Deliverable of a great Public Affairs plan is – beyond the immediate needs of the Organization’s clients – understanding the larger arena of its Stakeholders, as well as their needs, wants and values, plus their intersections with the Client, and developing a plan and advocacy that advances the Organization’s interests. Failure to do that increases “the Risks” the Organization faces, some of which may be fatal to an otherwise healthy organization. A “Risk Audit” is an important tool to start.
